Since 1888, Norwood United Methodist Church has been worshiping God and serving the community. Norwood UMC has a rich tradition of personal and family values and life centered in Jesus Christ. As with most communities, there have been some changes over the years, but Norwood Church continues to be a place of hospitality where people can meet as friends, family and neighbors.
We share a common mission with other Christian communities. . . to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek to live out the great commandments to love God and our neighbors. A special appreciation for the Bible as the inspired word of God helps uplift and strengthen our souls and guide our lives.
We continue to experience the blessings of others whom God guides our way to join in the journey of faith, celebrating with joy and thanksgiving the present work of God’s Holy Spirit moving among and within us, giving us gifts and power to bear “good fruit.”
Allow God to reveal your part in His plan for building a new tomorrow for our community and world. As God loves us and gives us life abundantly, let us continue to share it with others.
With the Love of One, in Christ,
Pastor DJ Choi
SERVING AND SHARING CHRIST SINCE 1888
Two Thousand and Thirteen finds NUMC serving Jesus Christ for 125 years. What a blessing this is for all of us! In July of Eighteen Eighty-Eight, a decision was reached to build a temporary chapel to be located on the end of a lot at the corner of Cleveland and Mohawk Avenues, the Norwood Methodist Episcopal Church. Today what a beautiful building we have located on Chester Pike and West Ridley Avenue in which to worship and serve our Lord and Savior.
